Effective July 1st, the Department of Public Utilities will start billing customers monthly rather than the current bimonthly cycle.
What you will see:
Customers who receive their bill in July for June usage may notice that the number of days billed could be irregular. This is to ensure customers are transitioned to their new monthly billing schedule. The bill received in August will reflect water usage for the 31 days of July.
If you need help or have questions about the transition to monthly billing, please call customer service at 757-393-8524 to speak with a customer service agent. The agent can offer a payment plan or an extension for this bill to ease your transition.
Your billing cycle will remain the same if you are a monthly customer.
If you currently send payments on a fixed basis from your financial institution, you must change the frequency of payments from every two months to every month, effective July 1, 2023.
For customers using automatic bank drafts, the payments will now be withdrawn monthly, and no action is required from the customer.
