We owe much to the countless number of volunteers who lend a hand to care for Portsmouth's homeless population. Earlier in August, the Portsmouth Volunteers For The Homeless (PVH) was honored to receive the 2019 Community Service Award from the Baptist General Convention of Virginia during their 120th Annual Session and Congress of Christian Education.
The mission of the Baptist General Convention is to unite and equip churches, ministries, associations, and constituents to do holistic ministry that propagate the Gospel, advances the Kingdom of God, and supports education and missions in Virginia and beyond.
PVH's mission is to encourage ministry support and participation through partnerships with state and national bodies, and other like-minded agencies that are ever expanding.
The entire city organization offers a heartfelt congratulations to the Portsmouth Volunteers For The Homeless for receiving this award and for the work you do year end and year out to help our residents.
