Bookkeeper - CLOSED
Primary Duties: Provide good customer service; Process Electronic Transfers and ACH payments daily; Control the inventory for E-Z Passes, 4 Part Receipts, Dog Tags, Restricted Parking Decals, Bicycle Licenses, and Cigarette Stamps; Assist satellite office; Post Cash Report data for month-end balancing with Commissioner of the Revenue (i.e., Business License, Transfer Fees, Utility Taxes, Short-Term Rental, Food Tax/Lodging, Yard Sales, Cigarette Tax, and Admission Fees); Process Parking Authority payments received from monthly rentals; Maintain log of cash reports and prepare boxing for storage; Issue month-end reports for monthly analysis, Cash Collections, cashier transactions for ARC and Public Utilities, daily item count sheet, EDI tracking, cashier over/short, monthly item count, and workload measures; Quarterly inventory of Restricted Parking Decals, Dog Tags, Cigarette Stamps, and Bicycle Licenses; Process mail daily (Parking Tickets, Invoices, False Alarms, Parks & Recreation payments, and lockbox payments on remittance machine for Public Utilities and city); Reconcile bank statement for Juror Witness and Adjustment accounts; Process monthly jury checks to divert money for delinquent taxes and send letters to taxpayers; Prepare cash turn-ins for city departments; Research cash reports for various departments (i.e., Finance, Behavioral Health, Parks and Recreation); Process journal voucher letters for Real Estate and Personal Property and submit to Finance Department; Submit Payment Requests when needed; Research unidentified checks; Process Business License payments from Commissioner of Revenue and clear for delinquent taxes; Track ATM transactions and replenish when needed; Log departments’ locked bags delivered by police courier and monitor log in sheets; Distribute payroll and keep updated authorization log
Secondary Duties: Back up Head Bookkeeper in his/her absence when needed; Assist with telephone inquiries; All other duties assigned by the Treasurer or his designee
Required Education Experience: Graduation from high school, supplemented by continuing education in business related courses; 3-5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Bookkeeping; Good customer service skills; Good communication skills, both verbal and written; Proficiency using Microsoft Office and other office equipment; Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Salary Range: $31,000.00 – $41,000.00 per year
