Duties
The duties of the Department are to:

• Operate and maintain the 122 traffic signalized intersections, over 28,000 roadway signs, and approximately 870 miles of pavement markings
• Program and maintain all School Zone flashing light systems
• Investigate, adjust, and monitor all signal timing systems
• Conduct studies for street lights, traffic, and ADA requests

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the department are to:

• Issue Permits for oversized/overweight vehicle routing
• Provide support for city sponsored events
• Respond to emergency management during severe weather
• Integrate and implement new traffic signal system platforms
• On-call 24-hour support for traffic signal system
