The Challenge Window for $1.48 Billion Dollars in federal funding for home internet access closes Nov 30, 2023

BEAD is Broadband Equity, Access and Diversity, a program funded by the Infrastructure and Investment Act to expand Broadband Internet access across the country. Virginia’s share of the funding is $1.48 billion dollars. These funds flow to cities and counties according to the lack of internet access or service available. 

By taking the survey, you will help to ensure that Portsmouth is eligible to receive its fair share of funding to assist in providing affordable and fast internet to those who need it most.

There are also programs available to help support the cost of service for those who have difficulty affording current services.
