Portsmouth is an historic waterfront community where residents rely on biking and walking for recreation and everyday transportation. The City's goal is to make active transportation safe, healthy, and fun for all ages and abilities. With over 150 miles of sidewalks, bikeways and multi-use paths, Portsmouth continues to be a Nationally Recognized Walk Friendly and Bike Friendly Community.
