Household Hazardous Waste Event Schedule

  • Saturday, April 21, 2018: 9 a.m. to Noon
  • Saturday, August 4, 2018: 9 a.m. to Noon (End of summer event)
  • Saturday, November 17, 2018: 9 a.m. to Noon

The City of Portsmouth will host a free drive-through household hazardous waste collection, document shredding, electronics recycling, and clothing collection event in the I.C. Norcom High School parking lot. You must be in line before noon to receive service. Please call 757-393-8663 for more information.

Processing Fee Notice

Per the notices received in your Portsmouth Public Utilities bill, as of Monday, November 13, 2017, Portsmouth Public Utility account holders will be charged a processing fee when using a credit/debit card ($3.50) or electronic check ($1.50) for payment of your Public Utilities Department bill.

These fees are charged and collected by a third-party provider. The City of Portsmouth does not receive any portion of the fee. If you have questions, please contact Public Utilities at 757-393-8524.

Per the notices received in your Portsmouth Public Utilities bill, as of Monday, November 13, 2017, Portsmouth Public Utility Bill Account Holders will be charged a processing fee when you use your credit/debit card ($3.50 processing fee) or electronic check ($1.50 processing fee), when using these methods for payment of your Public Utilities bill.
