| Mosquito Activity (Scale from 0 to 5) |
- Trap counts came back up this week as expected. Mosquitoes were
able to quickly multiply and take advantage of the wet conditions
the last week and a half. Dry conditions are now widespread in the
city.
- Over all mosquito activity is still a 1 at this time. Sustained
rainfall could cause mosquito activity to drastically increase to a
2 or 3 later this season.
|
| Surveillance |
- There is minimal standing water in the city as most areas have
dried out from the recent rain.
- We conducted normal trapping schedule for this week 5 CDC, 20
OFP.
- 5 CDC style traps were set this week, with a total of 518
mosquitoes caught for an average of 104 per trap up from 70 per trap
last week.
- 20 Omni-Directional Fay-Prince (OFP) were set this week, with a
total of 304 tiger mosquitoes for an average of 16 per trap. This
indicates a quadrupling of the tiger mosquito populations in one
week.
- Most areas breeding last week have dried up.
