The Department of Public Utilities has implemented a new unidirectional flushing program. Flushing is used to maintain water quality by flushing out accumulated sediments found in the pipes.

This program is designed to systematically replace or rehabilitate aging water and sewer lines throughout the City, one neighborhood at a time.
