MOBILE KIDS MEALS: This program transports meals to sites without the means to prepare the meal on site. The program also provides all paper products, training for cooks and site leaders, salary for cooks and van driver. Program is held at Neighborhood Facility, J. E. Parker, Cavalier Manor and Port Norfolk Recreation Centers. This is open to all school aged children pre-K - 12th grade.
VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH: United States Deparment of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This program provides the Recreation Department the means to purchase food, snacks and other essential supplies for the Kids Meals afterschool program via reimbursement. The program is currently held at five Recreation Centers and ten 6 TO SIX Child Care sites.
