Subj: A Connect With Conduct Campaign “Link With Us Against Youth Violence”
Are you tired of the senseless violence occurring in your community? Have you or someone you know been affected by this violence? Are you having problems controlling your teen? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then come out to the Connect With Conduct Campaign and “Link with Us Against Youth Violence”. This program will be held on Saturday February 9, 2008 from 1pm to 5pm at Willett Hall in Portsmouth. The program is free and open to all families. A special t-shirt will be given to the first 500 participants.
The program will consist of Power Shops, A tribute to Martin Luther King Jr., Praise Dances by Flames of Fire and Anointed Feet. The program will conclude with a candle light vigil in remembrance of all loved ones touched by violence.
The Power Shops will focus on Empowerment, Education, Support, Inspiration and Encouragement. In addition, the program will also feature a memorial board whereby the public can post a picture or name card in remembrance of their loved one.
This program is sponsored by the City of Portsmouth Department of Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services and the Saturday Academy for Positive Self-Development.
