Portsmouth Invitational Tournament Update

We’re just three weeks from the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, and commitments have been received from the following players…


WHO: Gavin Grant of NC State, Will Thomas of George Mason, Drew Lavender and Stanley Burrell of Xavier, Jason Richards of Davidson, and A.J. Graves of Butler. Announced last week were Georgetown’s Patrick Ewing Jr. and Jonathan Wallace, along with Clemsen’s James Mays.

WHAT: The 56th Annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, the nation’s oldest amateur basketball tournament, recognized by NBA and European scouts as the premier showcase for potential professional prospects.

WHEN: April 9-12, 2008.

ADMISSION: $8 per night or $25 for all 12 games of the tournament.
Tickets available through Ticketmaster and through the Willett Hall box office. (NOTE: The 3:15 p.m. Thursday and Friday afternoon consolation games and Saturday’s noon and 2 p.m. games are FREE!)

WHERE: All games held in the gymnasium of Churchland High School, 4301 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth.
