(Portsmouth, VA) Beginning in September, the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame will expand its community programming to include preschool children, ages 2-5. Future Famers, a new story-time series giving children and their parents an opportunity to learn and create, will be offered once a month during the school year.
The Future Famers program is aligned with the Hall of Fame’s mission to educate youth on the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices. Each session will include an age-appropriate story, a healthy snack, and an interactive element, such as a game or craft project. Parents are invited to attend with their children.
Participation in Future Famers is included in the $7 museum admission rate (children 2 and under free), and will be held at 10:30 a.m. on first Thursday of each month, beginning September 6. The Hall of Fame is located at 206 High Street, in downtown Portsmouth. Call (757) 393-8031 ext. 12 for more information.
Established in 1972, the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to honor Virginia’s contributions to the world of sports as the Commonwealth’s official sports hall of fame. Visit the museum to experience hands-on fun for the whole family.
