PORTSMOUTH -- The Portsmouth City Council has scheduled three Community Meetings for the fifth consecutive year to give citizens an opportunity to have a dialogue with the Council and bring community concerns to Council's attention. The second of the three meetings for 2007 is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15, at Cradock Middle School (located at 21 Alden Avenue), beginning at 7 p.m.
This Community Meeting will include a public hearing to receive citizen input concerning the proposed Hampton Roads Transportation Authority and its potential impact on local transportation and associated fees to be paid by citizens.
The City Ombudsman will also be present at the meeting to receive any individual concerns that citizens may have.
The third and final Community Meeting scheduled this year will be on Tuesday, September 18, at I. C. Norcom High School. This meeting also will begin at 7 p.m. Any citizen is welcome to attend any or all of these meetings.
