Description:
Under general supervision operates machinery and equipment and performs related duties in the maintenance, repair and replacement of gravity sewers, laterals, manholes and related work as required for the Department of Public Utilities. The employee should have general knowledge of the common practices, tools, methods, and techniques used in maintenance and repair of a sewer collection system. The individual in this position must be able to operate a backhoe.

Education/Experience:
Graduation from High School or equivalent; 3 to 5 years of experience in public utilities work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Special
Req:
Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia or Commercial Driver's Instruction Permit with the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within 60 days of hire.
