Description:
The City of Portsmouth's Department of Behavioral Healthcare Services seeks a highly motivated individual to provide professional licensed therapeutic services to individuals and families through clinical assessment and therapy, case management, and crisis intervention in mental health and substance abuse programs; develops and implements treatment plans; conducts intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations; provides coordination and consultative services with other community agencies; and consults with psychiatrists and/or psychiatric nurses regarding medication and diagnoses.

Education/Experience:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or a related human services field; 3 to 5 years of experience of clinical services; in any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Req:
Must possess a valid Driver's License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. LCSW or LPC professional license in Virginia required. Qualified applicants may be given a conditional employment offer. Actual employment is contingent upon the satisfactory results of a federal and state criminal background check, using fingerprints, and a search of the Virginia Department of Social Services Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, as required by law.
