EMS Division
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division
provides and oversees the emergency medical response capability
of PFRES. With over 12,000 medical calls per year, EMS
operations make up over 70% of our service volume. EMS Division
also coordinates with regional and state agencies to ensure that
PFRES is capable of responding to large scale events in our own
city and in assistance to other local jurisdictions.
"A" Shift EMS Supervisor
Lieutenant Jason Brown

Lieutenant Brown entered service with PFRES in
1994. Serving in multiple suppression assignments
while completing training, he received his paramedic
certification in 2003. Lieutenant Brown also
coordinates logistics for EMS Division.

"B" Shift EMS Supervisor
Lieutenant Mark Peltonen
|
 |
Lieutenant Peltonen joined PFRES in 1994 and
received his paramedic certification in 1998. He
served in various suppression assignments prior to
promotion to lieutenant in 2004 and his subsequent
assignment to EMS Division.

"C" Shift EMS Supervisor
Lieutenant Patrick Mitchell

Lieutenant Mitchell received his paramedic
certification in 1992 and has served the City of
Portsmouth in that capacity since 1994. He as also
served in multiple suppression and special operations
assignments, and manages electronic systems and
equipment for EMS Division. Lieutenant Mitchell
received his Associate Degree (EMS) from Tidewater
Community College in 1995. |
