Collections Specialist

Primary Duties:

Provide good customer service.

Request and verify daily, monthly reports. Review monthly delinquency report for collection

actions.

Process daily tax payments for Personal Property, Parking Tickets, EMS and Trustee accounts.

Review and enter data in various databases.

Approve Promissory Agreements for Personal Property, EMS and Parking Tickets.

Release DMV stops.

Respond to citizens’ telephone inquiries.

Responsible for skip tracing to find updated addresses on returned mail for EMS and Parking Tickets.

Responsible for collection and maintenance of delinquent Parking Tickets.

Review refund registers for delinquent Parking Tickets, EMS and Trustee accounts before refund checks are issued.

Maintains the Trustee Tax system.

Process and file criminal complaints for delinquent Trustee Tax accounts.

Review and make corrections to daily online payment reports.


Secondary Duties:

Assist staff with special projects.

Sort and distribute mail.

Serve as a Notary Public.

All other duties as assigned by the Treasurer or his designee.


Required Education/Experience:

Graduation from High School; 3-5 years of experience in Finance or Government Accounting; Good customer service skills; Good communication skills, both verbal and written; Proficiency using Microsoft Office and general office equipment; Any equivalent combination of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Salary Range: $32,000.00 – $36,000.00 per year
